## New features

### 1. MarketCheck Excel Add-in

**Description:**

The MarketCheck Excel Add-in brings MarketCheck automotive data directly into Microsoft Excel. Choose a report, apply your filters, and stream results directly into your worksheet - no coding or manual exports required.

Access inventory, dealer information, pricing, VIN data, listing history, market statistics, and more, all using your MarketCheck API key.

**What you can do:**

- **Search inventory** - Find active, historical, private-party, and auction listings across cars, RVs, motorcycles, and heavy equipment using the same filters available through the API.
- **Look up vehicles in bulk** - Select a column of VINs, listing IDs, or dealer IDs in your worksheet to decode vehicles, retrieve listing history, or check recalls in a single run.
- **Analyze pricing and market data** - Access MarketCheck Price™, market days supply, sales statistics, popular vehicles, dealer rankings, OEM incentives, and other market insights directly in Excel.
- **Customize your results** - Choose the fields you want, rename column headings, arrange them in your preferred order, and save your column setup for future reports.
- **Re-run reports easily** - Use recent runs and saved report configurations to repeat previous searches without re-entering filters.
- **Control API usage and costs** - Set a maximum number of API calls and a maximum spend per run. The add-in stops before either limit is exceeded while preserving results already written.
- **Work across two markets** - Access data from North America (US and Canada) and the United Kingdom. Select your market in Settings and the available reports adjust accordingly.

**Getting started:**

1. Install the MarketCheck Excel Add-in and open it from the **Home** ribbon.
2. Connect using your MarketCheck API key. Don't have one? Create an account through the [MarketCheck Developer Portal](https://developers.marketcheck.com/).
3. Select **New Report**, choose a report, apply your filters, and click **Run Report**.

**Note:** Each report runs on your existing MarketCheck subscription - every call counts as a standard API call, exactly like a direct REST request, with no add-in surcharge.

### 2. New Pricing Fields

**Description:**

Car listing and search responses now include the fees associated with a listing and whether the advertised price includes those fees.

- `fees` - The fee amount associated with the listing price.
- `price_includes_fees` - Whether the advertised price includes those fees.

These fields apply to US and Canadian inventory. When fee data is unavailable, the fields are omitted.

**New Search Parameters:**

- `fees_range` - Filters listings with fees in the given range, in the format `min-max`, e.g. `0-1500`.
- `price_includes_fees` - Filters on whether the listed price already includes fees. Accepts `true`, `false`, or `na` for listings where the flag is not set. Any other value is ignored and the filter is not applied.

`fees` is also available as a **facet** and as a **sort** field.

**Supported Endpoints:**

- `/v2/search/car/active`
- `/v2/search/car/fsbo/active`
- `/v2/search/car/auction/active`
- `/v2/search/car/recents`
- `/v2/listing/car/{id}`

**Example Request:**

**Client Impact:** Adds fee-related fields to listing and search responses.

### 3. `alternate_vin` in Active and Recent Responses

**Description:**

Non-VIN listings without a manufacturer VIN carry a dealer-supplied or derived identifier instead. That identifier is now returned as `alternate_vin`, so alternate VIN lookups are supported without a second call.

The field is returned only on non-VIN listings.

**Supported Endpoints:**

- `/v2/search/car/active`
- `/v2/search/car/recents`
- `/v2/listing/car/{id}`

**Example Request:**

**Client Impact:** Adds an additional identifier to the listing response for non-VIN inventory.

### 4. `made_in` Filter and Facet

**Description:**

Filter vehicles by made-in country using `made_in`. To filter by multiple countries, separate them with commas. Use `made_in` as a facet to group results by made-in country.

**Supported Endpoints:**

- `/v2/search/car/active`
- `/v2/search/car/fsbo/active`
- `/v2/search/car/auction/active`
- `/v2/search/car/recents`

**Example Request:**

**Client Impact:** Adds `made_in` country filtering and faceting with no changes required from clients.

### 5. MarketCheck Price: Generic Fallback Pricing (Base tier, US & Canada)

**Description:**

Added an optional `fallback_to_generic` query parameter to the following endpoints:

- `/v2/predict/car/us/marketcheck_price`
- `/v2/predict/car/ca/marketcheck_price`

When a VIN cannot be decoded to one exact vehicle, these endpoints previously returned `400 Failed to decode VIN`. Setting `fallback_to_generic=true` now returns a price for each generic vehicle definition available for that market instead.

The response carries a `generic_prices` array, with one entry per definition containing `year`, `make`, `model`, `trim`, `version`, `marketcheck_price`, and `msrp`. The top-level `marketcheck_price` and `msrp` are set to `null`.

- Opt-in and additive. The default is `false`, so existing requests and responses are unchanged.
- Base tier only. Premium and Premium Plus are unaffected.
- Results are not deduplicated. The same definition may appear at several price points.
- Each entry's `msrp` includes delivery charges and excludes installed options.
- Returns the existing 400 response if no definition can be priced.
- The Canadian endpoint behaves identically, with values in CAD.

## Other changes

### 6. Documentation Updates

**Description:**

The following documentation updates accompany this release to support onboarding and integration:

- **New Pricing Fields** - Updates the listing and search response schemas with the `fees` and `price_includes_fees` fields, and documents the `fees_range` and `price_includes_fees` filters along with the `fees` facet and sort option.
- **alternate_vin** - Updates the listing response schema with the newly added field.
- `made_in` - Documents the new filter and facet on the car search endpoints.

## Bug fixes

### 7. `engine_size_range` Returns Correctly Ordered Results for UK API

**Description:**

The `engine_size_range` filter now correctly compares engine sizes as numeric values. For example, a range of **1.5–2.0 L** will return vehicles with engine sizes within that range, regardless of how the values are formatted.

Existing non-numeric engine size values are preserved and remain searchable, while the existing `engine_size` exact-match filter and facets continue to work as before.

**Example Request:**
