is_vat_qualifying, UK Inventory Search: EV Range Fieldsmatch Parameter Now Validated, is_vat_included Type Now Consistent Across UK EndpointsDescription:
The MarketCheck API Sandbox is a free, self-service environment for building and testing integrations. It runs on dedicated infrastructure with its own sample data, accepts only sandbox API keys, and does not generate billable usage.
Key capabilities:
Note: The sandbox contains a small, fixed sample of data that is refreshed periodically. Values such as num_found, prices, mileage and dates do not reflect the current market. Use the sandbox for integration testing, not for evaluating data coverage or accuracy.
Example Request:
https://api.sandbox.marketcheck.com/v2/search/car/active?api_key={{sandbox_api_key}}&make=ford&rows=5
Client Impact: No impact on existing production integrations. The sandbox host and sandbox keys are opt-in.
Get started: [Create a sandbox key in the Developer Portal]
is_vat_qualifyingDescription:
UK Active and Recent listings now include is_vat_qualifying (boolean), indicating whether a used vehicle is sold as VAT qualifying. true means VAT is charged on the full sale price and shown on the invoice, so a VAT-registered buyer can reclaim it.
New Search Parameter:
is_vat_qualifying is also available as a facet.
Supported Endpoints:
Example Request:
https://api.marketcheck.com/v2/search/car/uk/active?api_key={{api_key}}&is_vat_qualifying=true&facets=is_vat_qualifying
Client Impact: Adds a new boolean field to UK listing objects in search responses. When the value is unknown, the field is omitted. Fully backward compatible; existing integrations continue to work without any changes.
Documentation: [UK Inventory Search API Documentation]
Description:
UK Active listings now include two electric-vehicle range fields under build, returned for electric vehicles where the data is available.
Both fields are float and are available as range filters and range facets.
New Search Parameters:
Both fields are also available as range facets.
Supported Endpoints:
Example Request:
https://api.marketcheck.com/v2/search/car/uk/active?api_key={{api_key}}&fuel_type=electric&ev_combined_range=200-400&range_facets=ev_combined_range
Client Impact: Adds two new integer fields to the build object on UK listing responses. Fully backward compatible; existing integrations continue to work without any changes.
Documentation: [UK Inventory Search API Documentation]
API Sandbox usage is free and does not count toward billable usage on any subscription tier.
The following documentation updates accompany this release to support onboarding and integration:
The OAuth list-tokens endpoints GET /oauth2/tokens (API key auth) and GET /oauth/oauth2/tokens (OAuth) have been retired and are no longer available. Token revocation via /oauth2/tokens/revoke is unchanged.
match Parameter Now ValidatedDescription:
The match parameter sets which vehicle attributes, such as year, make, model and trim, a listing must share with the VIN you search for.
On car search endpoints that accept match (US Active, Private Party, Auction and Recents search; UK Active and Recents search), values outside the allowed list were previously ignored, and matching failed without an error. Invalid or empty values now return a 400 response listing the allowed values, consistent with other invalid-parameter errors.
Allowed values:
Example Request:
https://api.marketcheck.com/v2/search/car/active?api_key={{api_key}}&vins=1C4GJXAN7MW870913&match=year,make,model,colour
Response:
{
"code": 400,
"message": "Request validation failed: Parameter (match) is not an allowable value (year, make, model, trim, version, build_code, options_packages): colour"
}
is_vat_included Type Now Consistent Across UK EndpointsDescription:
is_vat_included shows whether the advertised price already includes VAT. It was previously returned as a boolean by the UK Listing API and as a string ("true" / "false") by UK Active Search. Both endpoints now return a boolean. Clients comparing the UK Active Search value against the strings "true" / "false" should compare against the boolean instead.
This release is fully backward compatible.
